The first time around, former two-division world champion Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga (0-3-1 in Mixed Martial Arts) lost a three round split decision to Sergio "Checo" Ortiz (2-1) in a Mixed Martial Arts encounter in San Jose, Costa Rica on October 13.
On Saturday night they had a rematch in Mannagua, Nicaragua. During the first round, Mayorga went after Ortiz and threw bundles of punches while looking to land something big. In the second round, Ortiz scored a takedown early and consistently landed elbows on Mayorga, who was on his back.
