To me it's funny that Brock's promoter said that Brock fighting Briggs is a step back, then he goes out and signs a fight with journyman Zuri Lawrence. Now Lawrence is a tough fighter and all, but he is just way out classed in this fight. This fight is much more meaningless than a Brock/Briggs fight.

Main Events VP Carl Moretti has responded on comments made by Shannon Briggs on *********.com earlier today regarding a fight with Calvin Brock. "Briggs is saying that Brock pulled out...That was never the case. The fight was never seriously discussed...Fighting Briggs is a step back for Brock ...Beating Briggs, which Cal would certainly do, doesn't do a whole lot for him at this point..."

My miniature point was that Brock's "team" could sell a fight with Bob Costas even though he was below the heavy limit.

My friend who posts on this site as username 7001 went to Brocks last fight (Bostice) and he said he was unimpressed with Brock. If you are a top prospect and you let David Bostice take you 12 rounds, then there is a problem. But Maybe Brock just had one of those days, but I doubt it.
