Comments Thread For: Canelo: Schaefer Likes Angulo, Reynoso Eyes Molina

While Golden Boy Promotions is waiting for an answer from former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs), plans are already being made for a backup opponent for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez's return on March 8th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer feels a fight between Canelo (42-1-1, 30KOs) and Alfredo Angulo (22-3, 18KOs) would be an action-packed fight due to the styles.

if it comes down to Molina and lara,i'd rather see Molina,he gave lara a good fight I though he won,he was beating Kirkland who just came off a great win,i really wish it would be someone else that brings money, these two bring nothing, but just because Molina has a major belt and we all know being a champion and unifying is big, brings more interest which brings more money and if canelo wins that's what he would bring against his next opponent in july,if cotto picks Martinez and wins it would be an even bigger fight..Angulo would be exciting but he is coming off a loss,he hasn't been any good for a long time even before the lara fight,so hopefully it's not him,i think it will be molina

Great fight considering he's coming off a lopsided lost.

Schafer wants the exciting fight. Team Canelo wants a belt.

No one wants Lara at the moment. Although I think the fight will happen at some point.

Good fight Laras leftovers. Lara made him quit. Everybody like to mention that Angulo dropped Lara twice but don't know the difference between a knock down and somebody actually being hurt. I'll give you an example Angulo dropped Lara twice but didn't have him hurt and Lara hurt Angulo and made him quit.

You say "Fight Lara's leftovers" as if Lara didn't just fight Canelo's leftovers. What a f**king ******.

                    got no problem with canelo-angulo

canelo's handlers dont seem to be the brightest, already cashed him out vs floyd at a CW

Then cant land a cotto fight

And now they want molina,, I would be very wary of molina, he is an ultimate spoiler and has been in with high caliber opponents

I would take the angulo fight, and have lara vs molina to determine the next shot at canelo.

if canelo goes straight to molina or lara, and gets undressed, his ppv stardom and hype will go down the drain. The kid is still so young, i dont know why they are always trying to rush him, take a page from top rank and slowly build the guy, they did a great job early, but since the mosely fight, i think they have been rushing the kid to the big stage whereas he barely beat trout, and got schooled by floyd, another loss will hurt his rep
