ABs idolization of Mayweather WILL ruin him

Yesterday, as I was watching his pre fight press conference, I noticed that the guy has become so good at trying to be like his "big bro" that he even imitates Floyds hand gestures, facial expressions and pattern of speech. He does fairly well emulating Mayweather to an extreme degree outside of the ring, but I believe him trying to emulate Mayweather inside the ring will ruin him. Today Adrien Broner weighed in at 144 lbs, lighter than the WW limit, as Mayweather frequently has at WW and Super WW. One would presume for speed and mobility, however AB, while fast, is not mobile at all. He is very flat footed, and has trouble moving and balance due to how wide apart his feet are. His style is to walk forward in his rendition of a philly shell and pot shot. If he thinks he can emulate the mobility Floyd showed against Canelo, which I think he will try and fail miserably, then his idolization of Floyd will end up being what destroys him. I am excited to see what happens tomorrow night, I definitely believe Maidana has a great shot to humble Broner. Interested to hear anyone else's thoughts, observations, or predictions about tomorrows fights. Please no ignorance in this thread, this is for true fans of the sport, not fanboys.

similar style, not impersonation. in the ring.

but publicity and persona, yes, hes taking the blueprint from floyd which made him successful in the biz.

      none wrong with that.

It is really, really bad. Like you said, he is even imitating his gestures. He was chewing gum exactly like Mayweather does, moving around like he does and looking around the same way; it's a little too much. He even stole the easy work material.

Here's the thing though, an emulation never acts as the natural thing. Mayweather's reflexes and reactions come naturally, Broner's reflexes and reactions come from an emulation process which means there will be mistakes and openings present.

I agree with your assessment on his lack of mobility. I do think it will be his downfall when he fights a volume guy who can use his legs. Not Paulie. However, Maidana is no fleetfooted Ali, he's easy to hit, and has poor endurance. He does have good pop, and good timing, but I see this fight as a pretty standard win for Broner.

I actually think Porter takes a decision against Broner.

I get what you're saying and I agree. Broner trying to fight like Floyd will get him folded against Maidana.

I seriously doubt Broner has the pop to keep Maidana off of him. As you said Broner doesn't move well and that's the truth.

I'm really interested in this fight.

Well let's be real, if a boxer is going to try to imitate another boxer, today you can't really imitate anyone better than Mayweather so if he is doing that he picked the right guy to emulate

Actually he is and yes it is impersonation. He talks like floyd, he uses common floyd vocabulary, he even fkin chews his gum like him. Its gotten borderline ****sexual/stalkerish.
