if cotto is smart he'll pick Martinez, martinez is coming off surgery and who know how he really will in the ring from now on,,he's up there in age and by june it will have been a long time since he last fougth,i don't think Martinez is the same fighter he was when he fought Chavez, even one fight can change a fighter, and it seems it's happening to him,so cotto should choose him now that he's really past it and then face canelo and maybe that fight will be worth even more money

Take this fight now, Cotto! **** him up!
Chavez ruined him that is the funniest quote of the day . I guess you forgot the 11 rounds of beating that Martinez was so happy to provide to a bum like Chavala Juicing. And even in the 12 when he had Martinez hurt he couldn't finish him and Martinez was still throwing like a SAVAGE....

          It's true.

It's true. Chavez Jr. did ruined Martinez; just look at his next two fights after. Smh. Cotto will be fresher and more skilled on fight night. AND he won't come in as a full middleweight. He'll be light and fast.

Injuries suck! Sergio is the Derrick Rose of boxing.
Sergio reminds me of T-Mac smh. I hope he's able to recover and look close to what he once was but age is working against him.

Yeah, he's too old for his style.

I like both Cotto and Sergio but let's take a look at both. Sergio's style is very demanding on being athletic. Who knows how good his stamina will be after two back to back long layoffs. Even then, his knees' are still questionable. Movement is also part of his style, it could be a problem.

On the other hand Cotto's style exposes him to a lot of punishment, which he's taken a helluva lot throughout the years. I'm not sure if he'll be able to take punches from a bigger guy and I'm not even sure if he can even hurt Sergio at this point.

For these reasons I think Cotto/Martinez would be a better fight than Canelo/Cotto. Canelo needs to go after people his own age. These two guys are on their way out, they deserve a good payday.
