Golovkin was like Ward for a long time

GGG was a technically skilled boxer and did not take many chances and was not very exciting to watch in the amateurs. GGG did not become a household name until he beat Stevens, which did 1.5million homes. Golovkin was arguably the number 1 160 fighter in the world for a while before people took notice. GGG's style is more entertaining now because he comes forward and disregards defense unlike in the amateurs.

Ward can just keep winning but it will take him a long time to really establish a fan base unless your a fan of master boxing. GGG's good boy personality helped his career a lot and then all of suddenly people started tuning in to see him lose.

Ams have diff scoring so it forces a more deffensive approach. Ggg may have always been the stalking type but he adapted his style to win in the amateurs

99% of the people who watch GGG don't watch to see him lose. They tune in to watch him beat down his opponent. GGG has the monster vibe like tyson, mixed in with the Holyfield/Gatti likeability. Some hate him because of some of his cheerleaders, but most just like watching methodical beatdowns. He delivers them

Ward did his job, he beat everyone he was contractually allowed to beat...I doubt Bute could last six rounds in the super six, let alone compete against those guys.

I want to see another Super 6 Tournament. Ward, Golovkin, Groves, Degale, Bute, and Froch.

GGG don't want it with S.O.G. for awhile at least. That's his first L.

I think they turn in to watch GGG more for his pursuit of the KO and unrelenting aggression and power, not to see him lose. Some of course do, like any fighter, but it's not half his viewing audience, like AB and Money May.

Ward should automatically be in the final and replace him with another name. He'll get through to the final and take the drama out of his side of the bracket IMO.

Have you not watched any of Golovkins amateur bouts ?, Golovkin when he found his style in the amateurs was always the come forward, stalking type that he is now, obviously much more refined over time but he was never a spoiler and has always put on a show.
Saying that he didn't take any risks in the amateurs is as silly as saying that he has 'disregarded' defence now he's a professional, just wrong, he was never some technical or defensive wizard.

Does that look like a man who doesn't take any risks ?.
