The officials have been set for Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Laurence Cole will be the referee for the fight between the World Boxing Association welterweight world champion Adrien Broner and the International champion Marcos René Maidana. The judges will be American Levi Martínez, Puerto Rican Nelson Vázquez and South African Stanley Christodoulou.

Also this Saturday in Texas, WBA interim welterweight champion, Keith Thurman will defend his belt against Mexican Jesus Soto-Karas. The referee will be Jon Schorle from Texas. The officials in charge of the scorecards are Don Griffin from Texas, Javier Alvarez from Texas and Alfredo Polanco from México.

Laurence Cole is a mediocre ref. He shouldn't be rewarded with so many main event gigs.

Yeah, Cole is a crapola ref IMO. He misses way too many things in the ring.
