if ali did it to frazier in the early 80s, I think floyd would lend a helping hand to manny, of course floyd would make tons of cash in the process as well

Exactly the hype train is back. All that is left is for Floyd to man-up. It still is a big fight.

I think it's possible, because as others have noted, he certainly doesn't need pac to sell the Kahn fight. And the Kahn fight could have already been made.

So him bringing up Pac here suggests that fight is in play.

I know there is huge drama between them, but with manny facing so many tax issues, i can see floyd giving him a huge payday..

And the end of the day we are all human beings and nobody wants to see someone fall so far and suffer, especially a guy like manny who has a huge heart and has done wonders for the sport..

I remember the stories of ali helping frazier out in the early 80s when he was having money problems even though they were sworn enemies in the ring..

I think the same thing will happen with floyd and manny,, I doubt it will be the next fight for each, but i think this fight gets made in the next 2 years, especially if manny is facing big financial problems, floyd will lend a helping hand by making the superfight we have all wanted to see.
Frazier helped Ali out when Ali got out of prison and was blackballed out of boxing, had no money, owed taxes and America didnt love him.

Then Ali back stabbed him.. He did so because Frazier held he belt.

If history teaches us anything, it's that Money fights for the Money. Pacquiao is having tax trouble and is probably willing to accept anything that Mayweather offers. What's Arum going to say? He's the reason Pacquiao's in this mess. And if he isn't, Pacquiao still isn't getting the $40 million offer again. So Mayweather makes out like a bandit and gets praised for it, because PR will twist it and say Mayweather didn't make out like a bandit, he helped Pacquiao get out of tax troubles. It's a win win for Mayweather... I think the fight gets made...

Comprehension is horrible all-around on this board; he didn't hint to a Manny or Khan he said if either than I will see them May 3rd.

casual fan - "but he never fought or beat manny"

floyd fan - "yeah but he would have beat manny anyway, so he's the goat by default"

I really doubt this will have the impact on his legacy that you guys think it will. If Mayweather retires undefeated the argument will always be that he never lost, and if Manny loses any more fights the "tarnish" from not fighting Pac will be even less. You can already see it happening, after JMM who is a future HOFer and P4P great ko'd Manny, a lot of the flak that Mayweather was getting for "ducking" Pac dissipated. Mind you that's after JMM a GREAT fighter ko'd Pac. If Pac loses to anyone lesser than JMM I imagine the effect would even be greater.

A lot of people said SRL would have an asterisk next to the Hagler fight because of how he fought him. That didn't turn out to be true. Decades later I watch HBO classics and no mention of an asterisk, just a win.

Mayweather has the skills to transcend 1 fight or lack thereof; suggesting that the Pac fight not happening would tarnish his legacy is like suggesting that one loss would tarnish his legacy. This is simply just not true.

Yes Floyd did create a persona to make himself marketable because this is an entertainment business. But that persona does not mean that is the person he is when the cameras go off.

And lets stop with the BS. Floyd is not afraid of Pac, nor do I think Pac is afraid of Floyd. However Arum has not been willing to chance the fact that his cash cow may lose.
We also know he beats on women, and that he has a harem of whores and that he is a racist, from multiple rants and not just a one off, we know he physically assaulted someone or had his bodyguard do it for him...so whats your point homeboy?

Where was the hint towards a fight with Manny in this article? All we can do is hope the fight gets made. Few thought the Canelo fight would happen so there's still a possibility this will.
