Honestly I'd expected the Showtime card to beat out the HBO card based on the quality of names on the card, even with their lower subscriber base. I think it reflects badly on Judah and Malignaggi that they did less numbers than a Rigo fight which was not promoted at all.

Why does it piss you off that, that someone doesnt share your perspective on rigo???people like to be entertained and rigo does not do that...being a fighter doesnt mean anything, when it comes to entertainment value rigo is at the bottom man...Comment

Ironically rigo and hbo still beat showtime that night in ratings that should count for something.I don't think we'll see rigo as a main event again unless it a big name (donaire or that amateur lamachaco guy)Comment

Once again going Head To Head with College Football in America did not help
Both Cards went Head to Head again Ohio State vs Michigan State and Florida Sate vs Duke I almost missed the Bika vs Dirrell fight because I was watching Ohio State vs Michigan State and Florida State vs Duke.
Broner vs Maidana Card will do HUGE numbers because the College Football Regular Season is official over and it won't be anything else on during that time so they could easily do a 1.5-1.7 this Saturday
But Kirkland vs Tapia was a good fight! Oh and all this **** about people walking out on Rigondeaux is a ***in LIE, I am told by someone that attended is that with Tapia being a Jersey Boy (which happen to be his nickname ironically lol), he had A LOT OF family and friends that came out to see HIM, once he lost they started leaving, it had nothing to do with "Rigondeaux Style" but HBO sure did try to make it look that way
Go back and watch the Kirkland vs Tapia fight the Crowd was into that fight for a reason because Tapia is from Jersey!Last edited by sicko; 12-11-2013, 05:18 PM.Comment

HBO and showtime spend all this money on this money on fights for there viewers, just to have there ratings split, so that they can try and screw each other over.
It's seriously the ******est thing I've ever seen in business. All the execs who make these decisions should be fired. If i was the top dog of HBO or Showtime there is no way I would allow this, I'm handing over millions of dollars and you can't even deliver me good ratings, because of a damn made up conflict?
There is no other business in the media that operates like this, just boxing.Comment

Coincidence that the Cuban on each broadcast did the lowest numbers? There's no denying that Rigondeaux is the best at 122, and I'm not sold on Lara (I think Canelo decapitates him), but it's quite clear that nobody cares about them.Comment

That's why hardcore fans need to stop streaming and sign up for subscriptions on both networks. You can't keep saying you support these kinds of fights, but at the same time watch them for free and rely on casual fans' support. OR start a fundraising campaign to fund fights involving Rigo and other boxers with similar styles.

I can never get these kinds of posts. You saw people leaving in the midst of the fight. What exactly does promotion do when the fighters themselves don't do their part? That's like scamming people or selling them products that don't work. The best promoter is the fighter himself.Comment

HBO produced the very best and worst fight, KIRKLAND the Alabama Mule kicked the fool outa of Jersey boy for the best fight of the whole evening and the WORST fight was Rigo, I just turned it OFF !
The Lara fight was dirt.
The second best fight was when Porter topped and warmed up that head of Devon.
HBO needs to dump RigoComment
