  • Khan Fought Opposition As Good As Or Better Than Mayweather Did At 27 Years Of Age?

    Amir Khan is now 27 years of age, while Floyd Mayweather is 36. If we compare Floyd's resume to Khan's, only concentrating on the opposition Floyd fought up to the age of 27, in my opinion Khan has fought the superior opposition overall. In fact, Khan has fought significantly more undefeated fighters than Floyd already. The thing about undefeated fighters is that there is usually no established game plan to beat them as yet, they are sometimes unknown quan******.

    Just a quick comparison, taking into account recognized skilled boxers, as well as undefeated fighters (essentially unknown quan******).

    By age 27, the top fighters, including undefeated unknown quan******, and including fighters with 3 losses or less (excluding early-career novices)..

    Red = undefeated

    It's not even close. Floyd fought better names. This shouldn't even be asked.

        The Genaro Hernandez and Diego Corralles wins are better than anything Khan has done.

          Are you serious right now? Because I had already picked my backfire thread of the year picked out. This will make me have to change it I believe.

            Mayweather fought the better opposition by 27 and had more wins.

              Not really since Hernandez was no longer in his prime, he had lost his motivation by that time, and he retired after the Floyd fight.

              Corralles also didn't have a lot of great opponents before Floyd and he got beaten by Casamayor in 6 rounds 2 years after Floyd beat him, and then later beaten by Castillo in 4 rounds. It took Floyd 10 rounds to beat him. Corralles was a good fighter but he was probably B+ level at best.

                Mayweather faced better fighters by far, Khan's best opponent was Danny Garcia. How did that work out?

                  He was still in his 5th or 6th defence of his second reign as Super Featherweight champ. Still takes a good fighter to dethrone a long standing champ.

                    Arguably yes, BUT

                    1) Khan turned pro at a younger age than Mayweather.

                    2) He has lost 3 times.
