"Quit" indeed he did... injury my arse, Lara spanked that ass and beat down Perro of all people...I aint a theorist but I cannot envision Canelo doin that type of damage...just don't see it...probably won't even get the chance to be proven wrong...

Miguel and Sergio are both nearing the end of their careers. They'd be a little more evenly matched in that regard at least. And although the financial fortunes of fighters don't particularly interest me, I'd rather see Martinez pick up the payday. Alvarez has more lucrative fights in his future.
Are you me? I couldn't have worded this any better. Thread should've ended here^^^

Every time Cotto is in danger of losing or loses, he's "over the hill." When he wins a fight, even vs a guy that cowered away from him like Rodriguez, then he is automatically in the next big fight.

Anyhow, Canelo Cotto makes a lot of financial sense. They're both huge draws, even though one has lost a lot of big fights, and the other just lost his first fight.

Cotto - Lara - Whoever has Molina's belt if Molina doesn't have it, makes sense for Canelo's 3 fights in 2014.

If Cotto takes less money to fight Martinez (why on earth would he do this?), then Lara, Molina, biggest name (if not a rematch of the earlier two) makes sense for Canelo.

I'd be shocked if he "dodges" Lara. Never seen so many people so in love with a fighter that fought to a draw vs Martirosa (sp) and got knocked down twice vs Angulo. Granted, he beat Trout handily, but he landed like 10 punches a round. Lets not pretend that Trout didn't have the worst gameplan ever for Lara... he had no idea how to move his feet or pursue.

Anyways, now that Lara beat Trout, and convincingly, he finally has a dominant victory over a good opponent. Before that, what's the point of Canelo fighting him? Fighting Trout made sense, after all, he beat Cotto. Fighting Mayweather made sense, after all, he got tens of millions to do it.

But the sense I get on these forums is that it's "dodging" any time someone doesn't fight another person. If you think about boxing as a business, most of it really makes sense, and none of these guys are afraid of each other. You think Canelo is afraid of Lara when he fought a better version of Lara in Floyd recently? No, he's afraid of taking fights for a few million when he can make ten million, because that's just ******. Whether he fights Trout, Floyd, Lara, Molina, Cotto or another person, they're all world class fighters that he has to train hard for and work a lot to beat... he's not dodging anyone, he just wants the most $$ for his professional level efforts (as does Lara, he's not calling out Canelo bc he just wants to fight this specific guy... if Molina was worth 10 mil in a Lara fight and Canelo was worth 5, you'd see Lara calling out Molina instead... duh).

Lara and Molina are available. Both of them are champs. Canelo already faced Mayweather and Trout. Mayweather and Trout were low risk fights. Against Mayweather he had a built in excuse of being 'inexperienced' and going up against the best p4p fighter in the world. Lara proved that Trout was simply never that good to begin with. But I'll give Canelo props for Trout.

If Canelo is considered the next star in the sport, the next great champ, then Lara or Molina must come next.

I have a feeling he'll be fighting Victor Ortiz before he fights Lara...
cannibal sucks he's just looking for another big payday

why is lara after canelo when he is coming off a loss and doesnt even have a championship belt, lara is after the money canelo generates, no shame on that, the problem here is canelo is also after money too and lara brings nothing to the table, we all know casual fans will rather watch canelo vs cotto, or at least kirkland or angulo rather than watch a fighter with no fanbase and not a fan friendly style, dont get me wrong, i will like to watch that fight as much as i did the trout fight, but is causal fans that buy most of the ppvs ...
until lara doesnt get a real championship belt and some fans, he is no ppv material...im pretty sure those two will be faighting each other for a belt on the future but right now i just dont see it...
