You are speculating. The Alexander/Wlad fight was an exception to the rule as Alex was an established Title holder and contender for years, and the match-up has been in the works for a long time. Vlad the promoter was essentially a Russian version of Don King, throwing away money for a Rumble in the Russian Jungle (which it of course wasn't) in hopes of making a name for himself. Whether it paid off for him, I don't know.

And again, Wlad is the Champion. The only market they make exceptions to is the United States. And Switzerland on occasion when he just feels like it.

If clinching were treated with the severity low blows or even rabbit punches are, fighters like Leapai would have a decent shot at an upset.

Wlad is an excellent fighter with great advantages over his opponents so when he's allowed to clinch there's no contest... Hopefully, he begins to get at least admonished for the constant clinching after the Povetkin debacle...

Still can't believe Leapai has 'leaped' ahead of Pulev.

Leapai is so bad, Wladimir should be ashamed if he clinches in this fight.

          Wladimir KO 4

IBF needs to order the fight.
Wlad doesn't want to lose any of his belts, so forcing him to fight isn't as hard

The money will seem good until the hospital bills come out. God bless him though if he wants to come get some.

And no, Wlad should not vacate his title. Is Wlad wasting everyone's time by making it a highly promoted PPV event? NO. If he were then you might be correct. As it is, he is a One-Division Heavyweight Champion who is in it to defend his titles and rack up a defense record against all-comers, past-prime fighters, young up and comers, veteran contenders and the occasional flash-in-the-pan like David Haye. All Wlad needs to do is give us at least three fights per year, and he is golden. There is nobody that he is ducking and if there is a perception that he is ducking someone, THEN EVEN BETTER because that will at least make it a bigger fight.

What good is it to rush in beating Pulev's ass? Eventually all the mandatories get their turn and so will he.
OMG you are such a Wladdi fanboy!

This will just be a repeat of Lewis vs Shannon Briggs.

he should be ashamed if he even takes the fight. there's more worthy contenders available this time around. he needs to vacate the wbo and forget about leapai. this fight would be a joke
