how is it a lose-lose situation? in a business sense, its win-win. easy money right? biggest "B-side" floyd can have. he can finally end the chatter and retire manny. whether he gets credit or not, it doesnt matter, because its all about the money right? getting no credit is assumed against ALL opponents anyway.hes been knocked out 3 times. 2-3 in his previous outings, given a free meal on his last one which the sales obviously flopped.
its a lose-lose situation for floyd. he will never get the credit he deserves.
when floyd beats him everyone would just say he beat a washed up pacquiao.
pac had the chance to take the 40mil floyd offered (rematch clause at it) to make it happen. pac refused. "it depends on my promoter, bob arum." now that offer is long gone.
now, if floyd sees pac as a real RISK, then yes, the risk might not be worth the reward. on the slim chance floyd loses, he loses EVERYTHING. so from this perspective, i understand floyds reluctance to sign or even mention pac.
40 mil was offered, but that included ABSOLUTELY no PPV take.... so you have to think critically here, at the time, pac was a close second to floyd regarding PPV. why would he give up PPV cut? if a theoretical 20 mil guarantee + PPV can possibly bring in more than a 40 mil guarantee alone, why settle for only 40 mil? with potentially more at stake? floyd knows this, thats why he offered that crap offer. if floyd/canelo brought in 2.1 mil, its pretty clear that floyd/pac would easily bring in more.
if floyd offered the same deal NOW, it would be appropriate based off of floyd & pac's recent numbers.Comment

if we become technical about this, that 2.1, 2.2 PPV buys is strictly due to floyd since canelo never headlined a PPV. if gbp was to headline canelo on ppv, on a mexican day, against some random title holder, it would best do maybe 100-200k buys.how is it a lose-lose situation? in a business sense, its win-win. easy money right? biggest "B-side" floyd can have. he can finally end the chatter and retire manny. whether he gets credit or not, it doesnt matter, because its all about the money right? getting no credit is assumed against ALL opponents anyway.

pac never made anything above 40mil. so back then, that was a reasonable flat fee. floyd has ALWAYS been the A-side.
if floyd was to offer it now, floyd would be overpaying him 15-20mil.
but like what i said before, that ship has long sailed. let it go.Comment

Such a talented fighter but I lose respect every time he speaks.
Yes Pac is 1-2 in his last 3 fights. What will he say if he fights Kahn who is 2-2.
He mentions Pacs last PPV but we all know Pacs the second highest draw after Floyd even if his last fight bombed slightly.
And the audacity to bring up Marquez who he blew up to fight at catchweight and actually came in overweight.
And these dumb reporters never squeeze him.
The thing is, I actually think he beats Pac. If he did why doesn't he just beat him and make a massive pay day?Comment

First, Mayweather had garcia/matthysse on it. Before that, he always had some hot prospect/name on his undercards. Second, Canelo has a LARGE Mexican following so stop using words like "strictly" because you're clueless.Comment
