Comments Thread For: Marquez Stands Firm: Bradley Rematch or Retirement

According to manager and trainer Ignacio "Nacho" Beristain, former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez is sticking to his guns. The 40-year-old Mexican star is only interested in a rematch with WBO welterweight champion Timothy Bradley and has no desire to face Manny Pacquiao in a fifth meeting or have a junior welterweight fight with Ruslan Provodnikov.

In October Marquez lost a close twelve round split decision to Bradley in Las Vegas. Marquez believes he was robbed of a win.

the future hall of famer should go ahead and retire. he is 40 years old, has the signifcant win over pacquiao, clearly lost to bradley, and is to old for the russian provod. he has nothing to prove but more body damage to gain. this is a brutal and deadly sport. please retire.

Man just chalk up a great career and relax already. You done big things in boxing. Displayed superior skills, balls and determination and never quit on no one. You made it. We would all be happy to see you retire now. Much love big dog but take a leave, por favor.
