You are one the idiots on here that makes most boxing fans seem dumb! Was Mayweather the same weight as Robinson at the age of 19?
About the same weight, Robinson could have been lighter

Why do people make ****** threads like these just to bait certain fans into a thread and turn it into a war?

Just those two guys? I'm just upset that Floyd never took it upon himself to fight Vassily Jirov around 2003.. The fight was there to be made back then. Both guys were on hot streaks and it was obvious Floyd could've done what Roy did and jump up numerous weight classes and win.

          Damn shame it never happened

But could he better what Sugar Ray Robinson and try to do and win the light-heavy title against Joey Maxim

Only heat exhausting prevented SRR from being the light-heavyweight champion.

If Floyd is as great as some people think on here and how highly he thinks of himself surely he should take on the like of Kovalev and Stevenson and prove he can be up there with the true greats of the sport.

Also if Mayweather were to win titles up to light-heavyweight he would also match Pacquiao's great achievement of being an 8 weight world champion.
This is a perfectly valid question but Floyd is a lot smaller than Robinson naturally, isn't he? Floyd started at 126 or 130.

Floyd started at 130lbs 19/20 year old at the time. At the same age Robinson was at that weight class if not lighter.

****, I dunno.. but I guess Floyd will duck em like he ducked Deontay Wilder.

Was SRR the same size as Floyd? I kind of expect Broner to go to 160 and maybe even 168 before Floyd does but Broner can actually make the weight. Floyd cant even make 154, and walking Canelo's bigazz down, is as good as its going to get.

Like I said they were the same weight as 19/20 year olds, SRR was taller though by a couple of inches.

SRR gave away huge weight advantages in fights, but he had the skill, power and chin to cope with it.

Skillwise it is absolutely no debate that SRR was FAR from a perfected tactician. He always got dragged into brawls with slow fighters he should have been dominating. Throws wild combinations from his sides, had terrible defense. This is no debate, but he was great in HIS time. This is a time period where basically Floyd was able to look at the mistakes SRR, SRL, And Ali made, and NOT make those same mistakes himself. They didnt get a chance to watch him fight, and learn from him.
