Kirkland has the face the size of a 5 year old kid. 3 foot face on Kirk is hilarious. James is untalented with few skills in boxing. Not a top contender. But that face could be on Mount Rushmore.

well that's all dandy, but Kirkland doesn't have a very long shelf life so it's kind of irrelevant.

Kirkland has horrible footwork, head movement and no defense a boxer puncher would annihalate Kirk.

Nothing is irrelevant, even if a fighter has a short-lived, mercurial career as long as a fighter makes an indelible impression and takes the span he has and makes the best of it. There are the fighters who bring great skills to the ring and others that do not but have attributes that make fans stand up and cheer and that is in a Kirkland fight.

If it came down to just skills, we would not need fights; they would be decided on paper. But the fact is, history is littered with solid boxers who were overcome by other less skilled fighters who bring serious conditioning, heart and will to the ring and those intangibles when witnessed become quite tangible actually, and those fighters fill the seats.
These guys make up part of the gamut of Boxing just as the more stylistic or endowed fighters do. Never count out a guy who seems willing to die in the ring over some Boxers who will check out when the going gets rough. Just when you think the sorority of Boxing is owned by the perceived elite, a fighter with an endless supply of Heart and Willpower comes along and crashes through. **** happens.

hat's the reason they selected Tapia as an opponent, an inflated record vs no1 of real credibility...Wolf is the female Roach, over rated....she better do something about Kirk dropping his hands as he was after round 3 ( good conditioning?) or his career will be on the shelf permanently after Alvarez gets done w/him...

Kirkland wasn't the A-SIDE of this fight and didn't SELECT nobody. Top Rank SELECTED Kirkland as the opponent for Tapia!! Guess that didn't work out too good...Tapia will NEVER be the SAME after that BEATING!

Great outing by Kirkland... now when can we see a Molina rematch?
Molina was clowning him over 10 rds until the referee found a way to DQ Molina.
He got up from that KD and his corner's missteps did not influence his ability to get up.

Actually a lot of people were thinking Tapia was a future stud and could stop Kirkland early, given his suspect chin.

Kirkland looked like a beast. I wouldn't mind seeing Kirkland fight someone like Vanes next. Kirkland can be outboxed easily though, or possibly stopped with his chin. But still, he's fun as hell to watch, and he's beaten some decent guys. Julio, Vera, Angulo, even Tapia was a guy people thought would be something decent.
