I think it's worst to bring your parents to the fight like Tapia did...

I understand why he broguht them but it's sad to see your dad getting beaten up.

Why do fighters bring their kids to Watch them fight? That's insane and it can't be healthy for kid to see his dad get beat up and thousands of people screaming Yeah knock his ass out...etc. That's some serious child abuse.

It was heartbreaking to see Trout's son crying. Chad Dawson is Another one who likes to turn his fights into a family picknick.

Regarding´the fight....VAMOS LARA!!!!!!!! Best boxer at 154...too fast too slick too good!!!!!!!!!!!
lool he really is the best at 154. I wonder who is next

Good lesson to be learned. Most of these fighters kids won't achieve half of what their fathers have in life. Life is tough. You're not always going to win. See things through till the very last second. Etc... I don't see any real problem with it. You can just as easily die,get paralyzed, or severely injured playing in the NFL and most people wouldn't have a problem with players bringing their families to a game.

I'd bring my kids because if I could die as a result of the sport at least they'd be there to see me take my last breath. No two ways about it the, the fight game is tough.

I can see if this was Basketball or Football but this is boxing where you and your opponent intentions are doing physical harm to another.

Practically everyone, except maybe some who are in organized crime, want to bring their kids up better than they were. They want to shield their kids from the violence they themselves experienced. Why any boxer, especially one so successful as Cotto, would want their kids to watch them fistfight is beyond me.
Possibly because he's showing them what he must go through to provide for them. so that they can appreciate every single waking moment with him. Kids don't get stronger from being shielded from reality. I can guarantee Cottos kids absolutely appreciate the life the have with their father.

Are you a psychologist or social worker that has conducted extensive years of research to come of the conclusion that boxers are "potentially causing their innocent kids long term issues" by taking them to watch a fight?

Sorry if I hurt your feelings with the grammatical correction. My bad. But what of your argument?

Beating kids and allowing them to attend a boxing match aren't the same, but you wouldn't (or shouldn't) stay shut if someone beats their kids before you. Why would you remain quiet if they're potentially harming their kid's psyche?

I'm not a shrink, nor do I have to be, to have a reasonable su****ion that watching this kind of violence can mess with a child's head. Why do you think they have movie ratings? It's common knowledge that certain acute images can have an adverse effect on a developing mind.

Smoking is legal, but we all know it isn't good for you. It was legal to smoke in hospitals and airplanes for a pretty long time, yet it isn't allowed anymore due to our understanding of second-hand smoke. It's conceivable, even likely, that they'll someday ban kids under a certain age from attending combat sports. Just because it hasn't been done yet doesn't mean it's okay.
I love it when people with no kids talk like they know what's best for kids.
