Macklin and Kirkland

Last night on HBO showed a pair of the old Guard that are not willing to step aside yet.

We had Macklin and Kirkland give a couple of youngsters a temporary reality check. Both of the young guys will be back though. The young guys, Russ and Tapia, both show signs of talent. They only need some maturity. Well Tapia could use at least some stamina, he was all punched out after round one. It was like he panicked when he realized he was not able to hurt Kirkland in the first round and the energy just sapped out of him. I knew he was screwed when he started lingering on the ropes and stayed there.

Yeah, Tapia from that performance may well be damaged goods now, he had the fight beaten out of him in such a short distance, he looked out of it coming into his last two rounds before the stoppage.

I think Kirkland would probably stop Macklin though, his attack to the body would break Macklin down.

I have a feeling we are gonna see kirkland vs golovkin at 160. HBO is gonna make the fight cause kirkland has no one too fight at 154. all the main guys at that weight fight on showtime. plus they have no one willing too fight ggg at 160.

Tapia was going for a homerun in that first round...he knew he was ****ed when he couldn't take Kirkland out


i missed most of the Macklin fight...i think i was watching the Porter upset at the time
