Comments Thread For: Photos: Felix Sturm Annihilates Darren Barker in Two

Felix Sturm didn't need help from the judges to make history in Germany. The 34-year old relied on his fists to claim his fourth reign as a middleweight titlist, scoring a shocking second round stoppage of Darren Barker, Saturday evening in Stuttgart, Germany. Sturm scored two knockdowns in round two and was on his way to a clean knockout when Barker's corner literally threw in the towel. The official time was 2:09 of round two. Sturm looked reborn less than two months shy of his 35th birthday. The win advances his record to 39-3-2 (18KO), with the title lifting effort making him the first ever fighter based out of Germany to claim four championship reigns.

Now that Sturm has a title again, let's see if he actually steps up and fights the big names at 160. I hope he doesn't hide out in GE again. Sturm/Quillin or GGG would be nice.

Haha yeah right! This title will be held hostage for a long time. Might as well rename this belt to the euro bum title

Yeah I don't see it happening either! The sanctioning body is definitely not doing their job when it comes to Sturm as their belt holder. Sigh...

Talk about media control. Annihilated???? First time Ive EVER seen a stoppage where the "winner" was covering up and the "loser" was on the offensive at the time he was "saved." not saying Sturm didnt have him in some trouble, but it was obviously from his hurt ankle and by no means was Barker "annihilated" LOL. Germans are so good at rewriting history that they've moved in on rewriting yesterday LOL

Considering that King's name is in pink and with a comment like this, she is probably a female member. Believe it or not there are a few of them here. Anyway, Sturm needs to step it up and finally fight GGG. There is a pretty damaging article by an individual who use to work closely with Sturm that may prove with document proof that Felix has done everything in his power, including paying large sums of money to avoid clashing with GGG. I'm no GGG fan but I like him and I'd love to see these two clash.
