Drug cheats of boxing list.

We don't know but it's just as unfair to just assume he's lying and call him a steroid cheat as it is to just assume he's not guilty at all. I don't think Roy is a cheat and unknowingly took the supplement he says he did but I understand that's an opinion. Either way, like I said, he's never tested positive another time since and Hall was positive as well.
For all we know the tests were messed up. After all, how rare is it that both fighters tested positive for the same steroid on the same fight night and never before or since?Comment

The tests were messed up? What do you mean?We don't know but it's just as unfair to just assume he's lying and call him a steroid cheat as it is to just assume he's not guilty at all. And Jones and Hall did not test positive for the SAME steroid. They had a positive test for A steroid.Comment

I don't think what steroid they each failed for was made public either way if I remember correctly. Roy's camp was the one that mentioned that Andro was what he failed for, not the state doing the testing. Either way, he explained himself and he's no cheater.Last edited by Boxing Goat; 12-10-2013, 02:00 PM.Comment

He's not.......like I had already said before, he gave an explanation as to why he failed the test.
He took an over the counter weight loss pill that happened to contain a banned substance.
The fight results were not reversed and it went down as a win.
He never failed another test before or since and is not a cheat.
Period.Comment

I see. I bet you also believe german track & field star Dieter Baumann, who said his positive drugs test was because someone had contaminated his toothpaste? Or cycling Star Tyler Hamilton who said that his positive test was because his mom had an unborn dead twin in her when he was born? He's not.......like I had already said before, he gave an explanation as to why he failed the test.

The bottom line is that Jones tested positive for a steroid.Comment

Jones' plight is proven and a lot more believable wouldn't you say?I see. I bet you also believe german track & field star Dieter Baumann, who said his positive drugs test was because someone had contaminated his toothpaste? Or cycling Star Tyler Hamilton who said that his positive test was because his mom had an unborn dead twin in her when he was born?
The bottom line is that Jones tested positive for a steroid.
And.......they did both test positive for the same substance.
"2000 began with Jones easily beating the hard-punching David Telesco via a 12 round decision on January 15, at Radio City Music Hall to retain his titles. Jones reportedly fractured his wrist a few weeks before this fight and fought almost exclusively one-handed. He entered the ring surrounded by the famous group of dancers, The Rockettes. His next fight was also a first-time boxing event for a venue, as he traveled to Indianapolis and retained his title with an 11-round technical knockout over Richard Hall at the Conseco Fieldhouse. A post-fight drug test showed that both Jones and Hall tested positive for androstenedione which was available legally over-the-counter at that time but banned by the IBF. The results of Jones' next two drug tests, which were negative, were sent to the Indiana Boxing Commission. The IBF chose not to take any action against Jones or Hall.[4][5] Jones ended the year with a 10-round stoppage of undefeated Eric Harding in New Orleans".
