Comments Thread For: Bellew Makes Cruiser Debut in March, Eyes Cleverly II

Tony Bellew is already eyeing a rematch with Nathan Cleverly after joining his old rival at cruiserweight. Eddie Hearn says Bellew will make his cruiserweight debut in March.

The Brit lost his WBC light-heavyweight title challenge against Adonis Stevenson last weekend, immediately announcing a move up in weight.

Cleverly has already moved up to cruiserweight after his reign as WBO champion at 175lb was ended in brutal fashion by Sergey Kovalev.

Hearn was talking about making weight at 175 taking away Bellew's natural power. I think he said Bellew was a HW at amateur level and was putting opponents away. Could be a load of b/s tbf. Not sure how Cleverly might improve at Cruiser.

I don't understand the Bellew-Cleverly II talk. Cleverly is with Warren/BoxNation and Bellew with Hearn/Skysports.

        It still might happen...

        Ryder vs Saunders for instance.
