Smart choice for Froch imo, especially at this point in his career

If Groves was able to put him on the floor just imagine what Stevenson would do

Pascal/Bute winner all day. Kovlev brings a belt but no bread.

Stevenson said he would come down to 168 for a Froch fight. He's a career super middleweight after all.

Stevenson's team said no shortly after that. I don't think he fights at 168 ever again.

This Yank has. I, for one, don't blame Froch for not moving up. People are too quick to dog a fighter for wanting to stick with a weight class they feel they are the best physically suited for. I feel the same way about Ward, and him not wanting to move up yet.

In regards to Groves though, it is going to be a very bad tarnish of his warrior image if he doesn't rematch Groves because LOTS of boxing fans are calling for it, since the stoppage was premature.

I don't understand why he wouldn't. He'd probably make a good amount of coin for a domestic rematch/grudge match with Groves, and I think Froch would stop him the second go round, personally.

It's pretty obvious why Froch doesn't want to give Groves the rematch and anybody with an ounce of common sense can see why. It's because he really doesn't like Groves and he really doesn't want to aid in Groves's status in the boxing world or give him another big pay day. It's personal between the 2 of them, Groves needs Froch to further his career, Froch absolutely does not need Groves to further his career. At 36 years old and still an elite fighter the smart move is to cash in with a couple of big fights in Vegas before he retires.
As for Groves deserving a rematch? He had is chance and couldn't finish Carl off. He then put himself in a position where the ref thought he couldn't take any more damage.
Dana White always has a saying for people who want to succeed in the UFC....."never leave it in the hands of the judges". The only person George can blame is himself for not capitalising when Carl was hurt and also for not being conditioned enough to get stronger in the latter rounds instead of getting weaker while Carl got stronger. He was saved from getting KTFO.
