I was just thinking the same. Sad John never really fought the best, kinda reminds me of Calzaghe tho Calzaghe was good he never proved to be great. John handcuffed a title for too long and now he loses in obscurity.

Been a long time coming. Either way, Chris John was a very good, and I feeel underrated fighter for a long time. Enjoyed watching him every time I got a chance, which was way too infrequently.

thats the thing with tomato cans. they never stop coming. knock one over and the next is right there. the pressure builds and builds until one of the cans gets the best of you.

Ahhh, he beat JMM. And I know everyone tries to say he got a hometown decision. But that fight IMO was close and could have gone either way. He tried to come to the states and in his fight got jobbed against Rocky Juarez. He set the record straight in a rematch. But who can blame him for not wanting to come back? And since he's had an assortment of health issue. Don't see why that's held against him.

The boxing world acts as if that JMM fight never happen, but peep this. For someone like JMM, who's *****ed and moaned pretty much every time a decision didn't go his way not to scream from the mountain tops that he wanted a John rematch says something. At least to me. He seemed perfectly satisfied to go right along with HBO and acting as if that thing never happen.

he was? would you call someone who only fought 3 top 10 fighters very very good? especially if 2 of those 3 were mediocre and the 1 good fighter was a dubious decision. i would call him a fraud who knew he wasn't very good and that's why he pretended to be champ for so long. revenge of the tomato can!

thats bollocks. why did he come back for the rematch then? so he could risk 1 more fight in the usa but not 2? truth is he realized he wasn't very good if journeyman rocky juarez was giving him a tough time.
