Ok bro, first you try to defend Roy's case but then say this about Lopez's.Originally posted by valeroQuote:

True, but he didn't retire undefeated, so Marciano's record remained intact.
Ricardo Lopez also had a great record, but he had one draw after his 47th win, so that stopped him from beating Marciano's unblemished resume.

Larry Holmes was not beat by Spinks he was cheated. They didn't want him to break the record.Marciano retired 49-0 and made boxing history...but later, in a horrible twist of fate, died in a plane crash. When unbeaten champions approach Marciano's record, something bad often happens.
Victims:
Chris John stopped by Simpiwe Vetyeka after 48th win
Paul Spadafora lost to Johan Perez after 48th win
Larry Holmes lost to Spinks twice after 48th win
Dariusz Michalczewski lost to Julio Cesar Gonzalez after 48th win
Roy Jones Junior knocked out cold by Tarver after 49th win
Brian Nielsen stopped by ****y Ryan after 49th winLast edited by Riley Freeman; 12-06-2013, 03:20 PM.Comment

I think you are reaching with this thread. I don't believe in curses, jinxes or superstitions. I don't think there is a Marciano curse. Holmes lost twice to Spinks but he is also a multi millionaire and probably will remain a multi millionaire for the rest of his long life. Holmes is blessed, not cursed.Comment

It does seem to happen often when a notable fighter is looking for their 49th win, no one can deny that.Comment
