  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Promoter Responds To Schaefer's Comments

Tom Loeffler was not thrilled to read Richard Schaefer's comments in BoxingScene.com's Insider Notebook this week. Schaefer, CEO of Golden Boy Promotions, for one thing complained about what he believes is a lack of respect from Team Gennady Golovkin towward Golden Boy in regards to Golden Boy's middleweight champion Peter Quillin.

Fellow champion Golovkin is promoted by K2-Promotions, for which Loeffler is general manager.

"I like to do great fights and I don't have a problem and I know Peter Quillin has no problem with fighting anybody, including Golovkin," Schaefer said. "But I have to tell you, what doesn't get one very far with me is when they become disrespectful. Like Abel Sanchez (Golovkin's trainer) has, and Tom Loeffler has, and HBO has by not wanting to work with us. [Click Here To Read More]

It's sad that a lot of times the fights that the public mostly crave, ask for, and really want are the ones that end up not being made at all, and it's not because the fighters are scared or because they don't want to face each other. But because the promoters, networks, and people behind the scenes can't put their differences aside and just meet in the middle to give the people what we really want and desserve.

Wow, Schaefer needs to control his emotions. Very female like.

GGG would face plant your boy, Quillen.

Schaefer is the spitting image of a young Bob Arum.

Schaffer seems very jealous of HBO getting a possible star in Golovkin getting big ratings and Quillin is still fighting undercards against opponents on the level of Adama

Larry Merchant was right... the one sided fights have to stop. This includes Floyds!
