Ponce was decent, Litzau was meh, Perez was ok, DeMarco was a good win, Paulie was decent. I think Maidana would be a solid win.

If brook, broner.,Paulie,Guerrero,Thuman etc are then i have no problems with maidana being called a top 10 fighter.

How is Maidana not top 10? Beat Lopez, beat Soto-Karass, there's not many others that qualify over those wins. I can't think of 10 fighters above Maidana at the weight.
