11 Things You Should Know About Triple G's Foe, Osumanu Adama

I've been trying to convince myself that this fight is not bad and get
excited for it, so I did some research about this guy,Osumanu Adama,
the guy who will be challenging Gennady Triple G Golovkin on February 1, 2014.

Here are 11 Things you should Know About Osumanu Adama.(22-3(16KO)

    1. 54-4(20 KO) as an amateur boxer.

    2. First middleweight ever from Ghana to win a World Title.

    3. Has been knocked down 3 times as a pro.

    4. Has never been Knocked Out.

    5. Made $85,000 in fighting Daniel Geale in a World Title Bout.

    6. His nickname is the "Machine Gun".

    7. Missed weight 3 times in title bout opportunities.

    8. Have 6 sisters and 2 brothers,(who'll be watching him
    get tossed around the ring.lol)

    9. To test him his trainer Joseph Awinongya had him run 20 miles to his boxing gym to began training.

    10. Adama's trainer noticed he still had energy after the 20 mile run,
so he had Adama push his mini van for a half hour.

    11. Adama's trainer don't train him by rounds like others do,
he has Adama hit the bags, mitts and spar straight for an hour and a half hour.

Final Take: The man has great conditioning as he went 12 rounds
with Daniel Geale, but Triple G will be Triple G and knock him out,
    7 rounds max.

Big GGG fan here and Adama is is reasonable 'stay busy' opponent. FWIW, there's a lotta folks apparently 'never heard' of Adama - anyone says that have simply not followed MW over the last few years.

That said, Adama is a disappointing opponent, TBH it was never gonna be a big name in Monte Carlo, I'd hoped for perhaps Mora, Lee or even Rubio. None of 'em could win but.. hmm y'know... it'd kinda make more of a statement.

Ain't really any good way of 'selling' Adama tho, just ride out the BS (GGG getting hype means he's also gonna have haters) and wait for the next opponent.

Worthwhile pointing out that many of the 'haters' have to wait 6 or 12 months between fights - ain't surprised they get frustrated 'waiting for the man'.
