Promoter Gary Shaw has advised BoxingScene.com that he's ready and willing to finalize a heavyweight battle of unbeatens between Bryant Jennings (17-0, 9KOs) and Artur Szpilka (16-0, 12KOs) for January 18th, on HBO, from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada.

Jennings was scheduled to face Polish giant Mariusz Wach. After initially accepting the fight, Wach withdrew a few days later.

Who promotes Szpilka? Make this happen asap! You can never have enough undefeated HW showdowns!

      great matchup

Jennings the 6'2 perimeter boxer with an 84' reach against the risk taking southpaw in szpilka. i really enjoy watching szpilka but he doesn't have the sturdiest of chins & he is easy to hit. that is not a good combination when you start taking on world level fighters. this is a 50\50 fight in my eyes. i'm not sure Jennings is that good yet. he beat a couple decent guys & so has szpilka. they are at the same point in there careers & these are the fights we need to see. up & comers fighting each other to see who is the contender & who is the pretender. my gut feeling tells me that 84" reach will play a factor & Jennings will knockout szpilka. on the other hand can Jennings see the left coming from the southpaw stance?

I wonder why Wach pulled out as he would´ve been a much tougher challenge than Szpilka. - I´m guessing Szpilka starts strong, gets out boxed and KOd in the middle rounds. And the crowd will appreciate every minute of it so I guess it could be worse.
