If it was that one even two, then no problem as long as he fought the best after that but you see that that was not the case. But the point is that Wess makes it sound like Floyd fights these established fighters at WW .... not unless they are ready to retire or in wars ..... and I believe, Sharmba fits that too! Sharmba was not a career WW. He just tried at the tale end but by his stats, you saw that he was not a WW.

He said "Guerrero who?" but still fought him.
He waited and waited for Manny to lose so he can say "Manny who"

Folks forget Pacquaio doesn't even belong at 147, like literally does not belong there..most guys fighting at 140/147 are walking around at 160 plus easily. I've always found that crazy personally and one of the things I hate about the sport. I've believed in mandatory cut off weights for ages, ever since I heard Vargas was walking around at 180 coming down to 147.
Manny Pacquiao walks around at 147 or so. Floyd Mayweather walks around at the same weight. So what's his excuse? If Pacquaio is too small, then Floyds too small too. Both of them are two of the very few fighters today that actually fight in their natural weight division.

        Floyd trains 24/7.

Manny needs to eat 7,000 calories/day to stay at WW during training camp.

          Less risk my a$$.
And how is Manny such a big risk? He has been Ko'd by Marquez.
Cotto never been put to sleep like that before Floyd fought him.
Maybe you are new here but there are many interviews by Floyd Sr and Floyd JR that makes your comments sound extremely ridiculous.

"I don't want my son fight that guy, Manny"
          "My health is more important"
"How can a guy come up from 106 and walk thru them big WWs? I haven't. Nobody has but Manny can?"

And the Arum comment is just an excuse because if it were true then you are saying that Floyd was never interested .... not even back in late 2009.

Gavin Rees can make 147 no problem does that make him the same size as Mayweather? There in lays the explanation. Pacquaio is in the 140's because of muscle mass not because of natural body formation. I'm not making an excuse for either man because honestly I don't know what Sergio saw or didn't see but he saw something and I love to watch Sergio fight and would've loved to have seen them both fight him.

When he said Guerrero who, it was justified. Guerrero was calling out Floyd big time. It was kinda ridiculous as he had no fights at Jr. Welterweight or Welterweight. But then he beat an undefeated Aydin for the interim belt. Became Floyds mandatory by that alone. Then he beat Berto after Bradley ducked him in negotiations.

Floyd has been saying Manny who for a long time now. At one of the pressers on the Canelo fight tour, he told everyone that Pacquaio is finished, he's done. So Floyd trashing Manny is nothing new.

Fact is Martinez won't even fight Miguel Cotto at 154 lbs, despite the fact that Cotto is the bigger draw. Sergio has to work very hard just to make 160 lbs.
Terrible excuse. Martinez called out Floyd, right? Floyd has now fought 3 times at 154, right? He fought at 154 before Martinez called him out and even after.

What does Hopkins and Ward have to do with this? You guys go all out to defend, man!

The simple reason that Floyd fought those other guys and not Martinez is that those other guys can be beat due to their weaknesses at the time of the fight. Martinez had the talent and ability to give Floyd lot's of problems.

                • I agree with Arum. Like Ortiz or Guerrero, there are better opponents, and people who deserve the payday more.

Besides, has Amir rematched Prescott or fought Bradley yet? Exactly.

The only thing Sergio Martinez saw is money. He knows goddamn well he's much bigger than both of them. He just wants the payday like everyone else. Andre Ward and Bernard Hopkins also called Floyd out. That should tell you everything early.

Dude you realize Sergio only moved from 154 to 160 lbs because he couldn't get any money fights at 154? The man has never walked around above 170, ever!! He's more built for 154lbs than everyone at 154lb's except Lara.
