Comments Thread For: Fres Oquenodo to return, wants Wilder, Fury or Arreola

Tom Tsatas, manager of heavyweight contender Fres Oquendo (36-7), has advised BoxingScene.com that his client is looking to return to the ring in February. Oquendo last fought in June when he out pointed Derric Rossy in Indiana.

Oquendo is currently ranked #5 by the WBA and is also participating in the WBC's World Cup tournament Tsatas said that Oquendo is interested in facing Deontay Wilder, Chris Arreola or Tyson Fury and would love for any of them to be the Puerto Rican's next opponent.

Fres was always a solid gatekeeper & road warrior. His lack of power has always been his downfall. Hard to win on the road if you go to the scorecards. Id like to see him fight any of them. I don't know why people wouldn't consider him due to his high ranking.

No one asked you to come back Fres.

Maybe Fres and zahir can get on a card together out in the boondocks where I won't have to witness it.

I was ringside at his last fight against Derrick Rossy. He has declined.

Lots of holding and very little movement in that fight.

I thought he beat James Toney back in the day, and told him so. Of course he agreed.

Now, he just doesn't look too good.

Oquendo is old but this fighting once every two years makes him meaningless as well.
