God I hope they won't rob Crawford but they will.

Crawford is a true talent, I hope he KO's Ricky so the judges won't have a chance to rob him.

When a sanctioning body demands 2 guys fight, if they cannot freely come up with an agreement, a purse bid is ordered to make the fight. In a purse bid, the 2 promoters bid for the full promotion rights to fight. Its basically an auction for who stages the fight. There is usually a 75-25 split for the champ

When a titleholder and his mandatory challenger — or the two contenders vying for a vacant belt — are unable to reach a contractual agreement, the fight goes to something called a purse bid.

The sanctioning body allows promoters (they don't even need to promote the fighter) to put down some money and show up and put in a sealed bid, which is the amount that they're willing to pay the fighters to put on the bout.

This is to the sanctioning body's advantage, as it's like an auction, and the sanctioning body gets a percentage cut. Except it's not like an action, as they're not bidding each other up. Rather, the sealed bids are then opened, and the high bidder gets the rights to put on the fight.

Something tells me that Burns might vacate that title.
