Comments Thread For: Provodnikov's Manager: Marquez Might Have To Fight Us!

Newly crowned WBO super lightweight champion Ruslan Provodnikov's manager Vadim Kornilov advised BoxingScene.com that his client's top choice for his next opponent is Mexican icon Juan Manuel Marquez. Kornilov feels that if Manny Pacquiao ends up facing Floyd Mayweather or Tim Bradley next, Provo***ov is the only fight that would make sense for Marquez.

If Marquez is a man of his word, this fight won't happen. Marquez has stated the only fight he wants is Bradley. If he can't get it then he's retired.
This sounds like - You KO'd my friend so I must avenge his defeat and KO you. LOL

Marquez vs Bradley was not a one sided fight.

This is not a good matchup for Marquez at his age. It seems like it is since he's a counter puncher who would be facing a come forward aggressive fighter. I just don't think Marquez has another war in him (nor the legs) and Provodnikov seems to have a granite chin. JMM probably should retire.

They want Marquez for the extra money and that's fine but they shouldn't act like Rios would be afraid of Provodnikov because that's the fight people would love to see, I bet Rios would take that fight in a heartbeat.

Marquez Won't Be Tempted To Fight Provo & Marquez Doesn't Get A Bradley Rematch

I think Marquez finds himself at the end of the road. He won't figth Pacquiao because he knows he can't finish that fight, he was on the path to getting stopped by Manny in the last one, when he landed his fluke Hail Mary. He can't train harder than he did for that fight, and found himself out of gas by Round 5. Bradley fight was not close enough, that created an uproar in Boxing. He lost a decision, was a slow and smaller looking 40 year old, now that drug testing was in place, and would be for another fight, which won't take place. JMM was nearly dropped by light hitting Bradley in the last round, so there's no need. Provo is no option for Marquez. He's a young 26 year old killer, tha imposes his will on you and is very heavy handed in each hand. NO WAY Marquez steps in against that risky fight, but it would make for a nice payday for Provo, so I understand why they'd love the fight; they'd love the opportunity to stop a Marquez cold in his tracks, and would do so. For Provo to fight Rios makes no sense. Why? He looked horrible against Pacquiao, and was beaten by Alvarado, a b-level fighter Provo just embarrassed. Provo should go fight Danny Garcia. Bradley won't be anxious to fight Provo again, Floyd Mayweather isn't fighting Pacquaio, and Provo taking on Garcia makes all the sense in the world. Garcia doesn't have enough power nor fight to hold off a Provodnikov.

                    This fight should happen.

Marquez can only fight guys who are right in front of him, and that's provodnikov.

Provodnikov will fight anyone, so why not Marquez.
