    3 great boxers

From the oldest to the youngest

    Bernard Hopkins
    James Toney
    Roy Jones Jr.

I was considering that these 3 fighters managed to stay on top for an incredible time, of course one can criticize competition for hopkins and for jones, or marvel at toney's incredible losses.

    But...

Hopkins had to be 40 to be dethroned and in controversial way.

Roy jones beat everyone he fought, mostly above his natural weight, until 35 (and with his "all-wrong" style completely relying on reflexes and super quick hand+footwork), it is an amazing feat).

And while I am writing James Toney is probably eating a burger and getting ready to fight for the WBC championship of the world.

I am happy I could witness these fighters' careers.

the interesting fact is that very few fighters in the history of the sport, managed to be on top for more than 10 years like all this three did: some burn too fast becasue they engage in wars, some just need their reflexes, some are not disciplined enough to train hard when they made the money... not the case with these three
