How come it was so easy to make Bellew or Cloud but now HBO how to "put up the right money" for the fight to happen?

this right here. the money is always fine and dandy when it's a against a guy who has little chance to win. when someone dangerous is out there "PAY ME MY MONEY THAT I DESERVE!" floyd ruined boxingComment

Its sounds as if Stevenson and his promoter are trying to keep the gray-train going before they have to meet Kovalev and risk getting it derailed. Both guys have fought the same level of competition. I don't know how Stevenson and his promoter equate wins over Chad Dawson, who had been KO'd in his last fight with Ward and Tavoris Cloud, who as embarrassed in his last fight against Hopkins as bigger wins than the ones that Kovalev has produced.
It sounds like they want an easiier fight against the winner of Bute/Pascal before Stevenson risks getting his a.ss handed to him by Kovalev. This is the only option because everyone knows he is not going to get a fight with Hopkins or Froch.
I guarantee that Stevenson will take less money to fight Bute or Pascal in a fight that HBO will not televise than he would have received against Kovalev in a fight that they would televise.Last edited by big_james10; 12-02-2013, 03:27 PM.Comment

If it wasn't for the potential of a matchup between Stevenson and Kovalev, HBO would not have wasted its time and money televising the joke of a fight between Stevenson and Bellew. Stevenson better realize this and not try to snake out of a fight with Kovalev. If he fights Bute or Pascal next and loses, he won't be appearing on either American network anytime in the future no matter who he fights.Comment
