So its a fight I'm very much interested in. But it seems like Stevenson would like to do it later rather the sooner.
Stevenson's competition is hardly better, if at all:

Kovalev's last 4: Campillo, White, Cleverly, Sillakh
Stevenson's last 4: Boone, Dawson, Cloud, Bellew

Kovalev already stopped Boone (and he wasn't knocked out by him), Cleverly defeated Bellew, and most people thought Campillo beat Cloud. White was also coming off wins over Depsainge and Suhktosky and probably in the top 10-15 when Kovalev stopped him. Dawson is obviously the biggest name on either record, but I'm not sure how much he had left after losing so badly to Ward.

    Who are the legit contenders?

fighters don't duck each other. promoters and match makers do. why fight each other now when you can make some serious coin fighting others and cash out with this fight at a later time provided neither fighter takes a bad loss. Pascal, Butte, and Hopkins are 3 fights that they each can take and make some nice paper then fight each other after.

This fight is now such a juicy match up, one of the biggest to make in boxing right now. Let's put it into perspective, both guys are a combined 8-0 (8 KOs) for 2013, having taken a big chunk off their division with many top contenders falling victim to their wrath. Collision course indeed. However, this fight could be even bigger if they can add Hopkins and Pascal-Bute to their war path, we're talking about a huge event now.

I doubt it'd be a huge event no matter who they beat next. The higher weight classes just don't generate as much interest no matter the talent level. Probably because one is Russian and the other is a Haitian implant.

Obviously not a PPV fight by any means, but I think it would do great ratings on HBO and would obviously sell out in Quebec City or Montreal. HBO could crank out a one or two episode 24-7 series to increase the hype since both men seem to have interesting backgrounds.

Perhaps, but I'm not sold on it even though I'm a fan of both fighters. The Montreal crowd was dead silent during the Kovalev fight and yawning a bit during the Stevenson fight.

The HBO card actually occurred in Quebec City, so perhaps Montreal would be a better venue for Stevenson VS Kovalev since the crowds there seem to be very live when a big boxing event takes place.

That makes some sense atleast. That crowd was awful.

After he killed Simakov, people don't seem comfortable in watching Kovalev's fights. Understandable...

Since these men are prize fighters and fight to see who is best and make money while they are at it, then I think it ought to be PPV.

This would be a greater fight to see these guys go than Andre vs either one.

Who would you rather watch JOY jr vs Khan hahahaha !!!!

I would PAY to watch Stevenson vs Kovalev and WILL NOT pay to watch ballerina Joy boy Jr vs chinny chin chin Khan.

Who wins ? The first to land the big shot !!!!!!!

                      Both are AWESOME FIGHTERS
