    Is Stevenson's stock overvalued?

I mean look at his last four fights in the upper tier of fighters.

Took him 12 rounds to take out Don George, Caleb Truax crushed him
He avenged his last loss against a good gatekeeper.

Then the Dawson KO, was very good...nothing to take away from here. People will bring up the Ward fight, but Stevenson blasted him.

Then Cloud... the worst LHW titlist in the division. Had pretty much no boxing ability and was a sitting duck all night to a guy who threw back. Hell, Yusaf Mack was beating him, but he has the weakest chin.

So is Stevenson being overvalued after the Dawson KO?

I'm not completely sold. But on the other hand, he did beat the legit lineal champ at 175 and is rightly the current champion of that division. He deserves the hype he's getting.

Cloud win has lost a bit of value becuz of Murat's performance vs Hopkins.

Not sure if Bellew will be able to test him.

he's at least the #2 guy in the division, de facto #1 because his quality of opposition thus far is superior to Kovalev's. He looked great against Cloud, even if it's easy to look good against Cloud, and he KO'd Dawson at Dawson's preferred weight class.

I look past the opponents and judge him for his skill set/talent as a fighter. And I see a very fundamentally sound fighter with solid basics, decent ring IQ (knows when to box, when to attack), good movement for his size, respectable power and a solid boxing game. So based off that, combined with his recent performances, I believe the hype (more than hype perhaps, respect shown to him) is well deserved.

to be fair cloud wasn't a titleholder when he fought adonis, he's an ok fighter though not quite the bum some like to say.

tonight, we will learn a lot about stevenson, and kovalev. Haven't seen much of bellew but i can bet he's better than cloud.

Stevenson/George could have been stopped in the sixth

It's not unusual for a fighter to be hyped after a BIG win. The interesting part is seeing whether he can sustain it. He did vs Cloud, now lets see what else he has vs the other top fighters.
