I would guess that the hatred deepened when, after he parted ways with Roach, Khan again chose another trainer, Virgil Hunter, over Floyd Sr. If I remember correctly Floyd Sr was on the shortlist but Hunter eventually landed the job.

Floyd Sr says something along the lines of: "Khan came over to see me, he wasted my time. He went with the joke coach Roach." - It seems Floyd Sr may have either seen huge potential in Khan, or perhaps a good payday as his trainer, so he took Khan's rejection of him very personally and he still carries it with him to this very day.

The mystery is finally solved. This is the real reason why Floyd Sr has been calling out Khan so much - he's upset that Khan didn't choose him as a trainer and he wants Floyd to make Khan pay for not choosing him.

    cool story bro.

Have you a mental deficiency? Floyd Sr. Is a much better trainer than Roger! Just look at the Mayweather's performances with Sr. And without him!

All roger does with Floyd is hold his mitts!

Floyd SNr is vocal. He even said they should have made Canelo at 150 because it will affect him more.

He's a cherry pick type trainer like all trainers should be.

Snr is a good trainer but as with Ricky Hatton, he was late etc... and really annoyed Ricky.

Sr is a good trainer, for Floyd at least. He got Floyd back to his defensive fighting after the Cotto fight and that has served him very well because it's the most effective style for him. Under Roger, Floyd was starting to get hit more but Sr seems to have helped solve that problem.

But he isn't the type of trainer that will just get along with anybody - that's the reason him and Floyd work well because Floyd knows him through and through, and of course Floyd was trained by him from the very beginning. Not sure how good Sr is with other fighters though, he is probably the type of trainer that would work better with young amateurs coming up, rather than pro boxers who are already deep in the game.

Later on, after Sr and Jr patched things up, Sr claimed he would never have trained De La Hoya for the Jr fight but I remember clearly (there are videos out there too) where Sr was more concerned with how much he was getting paid to be the trainer in that fight, rather than him refusing outright.
I think that was a clear ruse to avoid using Mayweather Sr. for that fight.

So it's Mayweather Sr. that dictates who Lil Floyd fights now?

Floyd prefers to train w/ Roger. Over the past couple of years Rogers diabetes has gotten worse and he isn't able to train Floyd the way he is supposed to train him so Floyd Sr started traing him. Floyd was a better defensive fighter w/ roger as opposed to his father. The reason he was hit so much in the Cotto fight was because Cotto is a great fighter.

Floyd Jr was better defensively with Floyd Sr, not Roger.

If you study their careers you'll notice Roger was the aggressive boxer and Floyd Sr was the defensive one. Watch a few of their fights, you'll see what I mean. So logically the way they trained Floyd was according to how they themselves fought. This is what happens with trainers who are former fighters. For example, Roach trains Pacquiao in a similar style to how he himself (and how his favorite fighter Duran) fought.

But Floyd was trained by his father from a very young age so his defensive skills were perfected early on - they're ingrained into him. The longer Floyd was with Roger the more offensive he was getting, it was happening slowly but surely. He was even hit and backed up by Ortiz early in the fight after his own punches missed Ortiz.

Right now, since Floyd has been with Roger so long he has become sort of an equal balance of his father and his uncle. Floyd Sr with the defense, Roger with offense.
