Comments Thread For: Bellew: I Respect His Power, But I'll Hurt Stevenson

Liverpool light-heavyweight Tony Bellew is convinced he can pull off one of the great British boxing upsets and dethrone WBC champion Adonis Stevenson in Quebec on Saturday night.

The 30-year-old Bellew goes into the fight as a huge underdog against big-punching Stevenson, who claimed the title in June with a stunning first-round knockout of former champion Chad Dawson.

The bout is a major step up for Bellew, who lost his only previous world title challenge via majority decision to Nathan Cleverly in October, and struggled twice this year to squeeze past Malawi's Isaac Chilemba.

Haven't seen too much of Bellew but I think if he can get through the opening round or two while hes cold he will be able to give Adonis Stevenson a fight. I just have a feeling that it wouldn't be a bad idea to throw 20 bucks on first round ko and 20 bucks on 2nd round ko Stevenson might try to catch Bellew early because his defense is sometimes very lazy especially early.

I don't like Bellew's chances but I'll be cheering him on all the way, really glad he's got his shot. If he pulls it off it will be amazing. I couldn't stand him a few years ago, but to say he's grown on me is an understatement. Go on Bomber!

Big ask for Bellew this! But I think he survives till about round 8 or so in a pretty close fight but then Stevenson starts to pile on the pressure and its good night. I hope im wrong and he can pull it off but I doubt it.

Bellew is a tough dude with alot of confidence. Like Groves he's
been at boxing a long time, a live dog for sure.

Stevenson can outbox Bellew and can K.O. him so Bellew's chances are slim. Don't see Bellew K.O'ing him so IF he does do well early and survives, it won't be for long as I believe he'll get stopped by the 7th Round latest.
