Minimumweight world champion, Ayaka Miyao of Japan, retained her World Boxing Association defeating the Filipino challenger Gretchen Abaniel at the Kokakuen Hall in Tokyo. The Japanese was victorious on her third defense beating Abaniel by a ten round unanimous decision of the judges cards 97-93, 97-93 and 96-94. Her record improved to 16-5-1 while her opponent falls to 13-4. It was Miyao's third fight of 2013, and the other two were also won by unanimous decision.
