Cotto definitely has a chance of beating Canelo. The kid's still quite green, and I don't think Cotto's as worn out as many others do. Plus, Freddie Roach may turn out to be the perfect motivator for him.

I agree with this post. Alvarez is okay but he is not a monster like Golovkin. Cotto, with a good plan, could very well get to this guy even more than Mayweather did.

There's no titles on the line what exactly does he have to earn.? Financially the fight makes sense for all parties involved. A Martinez vs Cotto fight would be an insult to all the middleweight contenders. Having a guy who's never fought at that division get a shot at the lineal title.

exactly my thoughts... and lets not forget cotto has lost 2 of his last 3 fights and the one he won was against the great delvin rodriguez..... anyways most cotto fans dont seem to like this fight for a reason...
