The timing of it as well seems like political sabotage, since he first mentioned he might want to be president someday it seems like it's been one rumor after the next.
Who says he owed $50M in taxes? BIR made a simple request and for 2 years now all they got was a top rank notification, well they said they do not approve anything that isn't IRS certified. Instead of people and Arum playing the " He wants to help the people out" maybe they should actually contact the IRS and find out why it has taken them 2 years to just issue a certified copy of the taxes that Arum has paid on Pacquiao behalf.

That's the saddest bit, idiots on here see this as an attack on Pac or a political move, WTF? This might actually save his career, what is so wrong in asking Pac to produce a certified copy of the taxes that he paid in America in 2008 and 2009? Either people are brain dead or just ******s on here, it should take Pacman people 2 years to get those copies needed not some Top rank letter head.

Let just simplify in this way. Whatever the total amount of money Pac earned in USA from 2008-2009 we should assume the IRS already took their shares because if not do you think the IRS will just simply turn blind and let Pac escapes unscathed after all these 5 years? Therefore we should assume Pac already paid his taxes and doesn't need to pay the BIR because of the double taxation treaty.

They are making a big deal to a piece of paper. Even if Pac submitted the certified true copy how they can make sure those are original or fake? Why not just verify the document directly from IRS. Just scan the documents and email it to IRS for verification. Simple.

Am sure there is a way that the BIR can clarify this with the IRS, not sure if its their place to do so, but this is still a simple request that hasn't been met for 2 years, no one is accusing Pac of not paying taxes, because it seems a lot of you guys take thing personally when Pac is involve. This is a request from the Phillipino tax man to one of his rich citizens, Pac employs 100s if not 1000s of people so am sure ONE of them can go to the IRS and demand a copy of the taxes that he paid them (Or that Arum paid them on behalf of Pac), all these crap about "if he owes the IRS they wouldn't turn a blind eye" means nothing to the BIR people. Again go to the IRS get them to sort it out because Arum can not be trusted. I actually applaud the BIR for standing their ground on a rich and famous guy, the fact that they waited 2 years already is not good on their behalf because if it is an ordinary citizen they would have chase his a*s within 6 months.
