Comments Thread For: No Animosity Between Brooklyn Foes Zab and Paulie

Zab Judah and Paulie Malignaggi are competing for the same territory, both literally and figuratively

They are Brooklyn-born boxers who will be facing each other in their native borough on Dec. 7 at Barclays Center. And they are fighters coming off losses and vying to remain viable in the packed junior welterweight and welterweight divisions.

There was no tension between the two, however, during a media conference call held on Nov. 26. Rather, there was a tone of respectfulness — even though both men said there will be no friendship once the bell rings.

Garbage fight.............Zap should run away with this but the bottom line is theres no power coming to the ring so the thought of 10 rounds of slapping is not something I'm interested in.
Paulie has an opportunity to learn how to comment and possibly lead on a viewed boxing broadcast. Why he isn't going full force into developing his skills in that genre is ridiculous. He is capable of speaking intelligently from within the boxing community and give very good insight on methods & techniques!

Both need to stop, its simply time to move with life. Ray

I can agree to a degree zab still has somewhat decent pop just ask danny garcia but yes, neither of these guys were ever really top elite guys anyway now they are in the twilight of there careers. i think the winner may get a shot at the IBF title maybe. or if Zab wins they may pair him with Broner.

I don't get why people think this is going to be a boring fight. Zab is NOT a slapper. He has power. Not Matthyssee power but he's not a slapper.

And Paulie threw about 70 punches per round against Broner. He doesn't have power but he is not boring. He is actually pretty relentless.

The more boring fight may be Lara-Trout but it'll definitely be important in establishing a top contender in the 154 division. It's not rock 'em sock 'em but it's an important fight.

To me it's a very interesting card all around to lead to an all action card the next week.

This is a legit fight, period end of story. When has Pauile been in a bad scrap. Ever? And Zab has shaken the rep of losing his head and mentally losing a fight. Every fight can't be a title fight or with P4P dudes. This should be an entertaining fight with BKLYN bragging rights. I like it, should be a lively crowd, entertaining pugilists, and it isn't PPV. I'm all in.

Brooklyn bragging rights huh...lol.... brooklyn has become a soft borough anyway, just another extension of Upper East side manhattan. not that theres anything wrong with progress. however this image of Brooklyn being tough is one big farce.

should be a decent scrap nonetheless

A totally irrelevant fight between two irrelevant fighters who get paid for it. Good for them, I hope no one gets hurt.

                    Rolling with Paulie UD,
Zab thinks paulie is gonna be a push over which ain't the case. He's gonna get frustrated as hell when paulies jabbing him all night.
I just see Zab more okay with losing; Paulie seems more competitive and also knows how to keep his cool.
