"Fighter of the Decade"Manny Pacquiao left Macau shortly after 1:00PM earlier today aboard a specially chartered flight for his hometown of General Santos City where he was scheduled to receive a hero's welcome following his masterful twelve round unanmous decision victory over Brandon "Bam Bam" Rios before a sell-out crowd at the Cotai Arena in the plush Venetian Hotel and Casino.

Rios, sporting a battered face from the rapier-like punches of Pacquiao, left earlier with trainer Robert Garcia and his entourage, plainly happy over the fact that he survived twelve rounds against Pcquiao who he acknowledged was at his best and whose speed effectively killed any chances of a win he so desperately wanted.

If Pacquiao vs Mayweather happens next year it will be 5 years over due, and while both fighters are clearly no longer the same, in my opinion Pacquiao is the more shop worn out of the two and a clear decrease in everything from speed to power to stamina is visible. As a boxing fan I will still watch the fight if it does happen but it will be for the same reason I watch any other fight and not with nearly the same amount of enthusiasm or excitment I would've had if the fight would've been a few years back.

You know what I find hilarious? The media...neither boxer has voluntarily started speaking about the other in close to two years...yet the media can't stop asking them about it and no matter what I either man responds with people somehow assume they walked up to a reporter and started going off about the other guy. Floyd and Manny have never worried about each other or cared that much about each other. In fact the dudes appreciated each other and thought highly of each other until the media needed something to sell hits and magazine copies.

No, people need to support the fighters that pull them in, are humble, that steal their hearts. That fighter for me was Matthew Saad Muhammad. As well as Alexis Arguello, and Sal Sanchez. These were humble warriors who appreciated everything. I don't give a *** what country a fighter comes from, it comes down to who they are inside, their backstory, their kindness. Saad Muhammad was one of the nicest guys to ever become champion of the world. I will never forget him.
