I dont buy the "Cotto was drained vs. Manny" anymore. I just watched the fight again some days ago and Cotto was in great shape, really fought verry well but Manny was just better than him. I have to say Manny is not the same anymore because this version of Manny would have stopped Rios.

Rios is terrible career over winning wise
Rios took a tremendous beating. Not sure if Rios can beat Guerrero or Berto or Maidana or even beat Thurman. Rios will now just be an opponent to beat the hell out of and move up the ladder. just a bum now. and a mean bum. Who was the overstuffed mexican midget elf 4 ft tall maybe trying to hit Roach? It can't be easy to fight a guy you're friends with. I remember Khan had no interest to fight Manny either. I still would love to watch some sparring videos though.
Now people bringing up the fact that Manny didn't KO Rios out.
First ya were writing him off, calling for his retirement, now he dominates the fight from start to finish and haters still can't give the man some credit. And the same guys are all impressed how Floyd boxed the Ghost for 12 rds.
I don't buy that compassion bull**** one bit. There wasn't just many opportunities for a KO. I bet Rios came in a better condition than Manny stamina wise. Plus he was significantly heavier. He covered up nicely too, with his chin tuck in at all times. Punches u don't see hurt the most. And in this fight Manny's timing was off, maybe due to ring rust, who knows. Rios was selective with his punches too. U clowns saying Pacman was lacking PEDs, but Manny didnt do much damage to Clottey either, because of the way the fight was fought.Comment

Rios is finished as a contender
Who could Rios beat at 140 or 147?
Provo-Floyd-Manny-Khan-Thurman-Berto-Maidana-Broner-Guerrero-Ortiz-Josesito-Danny-Marquez--Bradley- None of them. That is 14 names Rios cannot beat. Career as a title contender is over for Brandon Rios. Might have to go to 154. and with no power it's over for the foul mouth vulgar rat.Comment

One thing I can say is he didn't look like the monster he once was. Every punch he threw had fighters wobbled and running away fighting for life, unlimited energy, punch power never lost it's pop. His boxing and movement in this fight was on point though, the way he kept spinning off of Rios looked nice. Without making excuses, he just didn't look the same, we'll see how his next fight goes. A mayweather fight would be cool, but he doesn't look like he would be able to do much without big power. He wouldn't be able to outbox him, and there is no way he would be able to land combinations on a man who is always on the move.It can't be easy to fight a guy you're friends with. I remember Khan had no interest to fight Manny either. I still would love to watch some sparring videos though.
