You're right! I forgot about Jermain Taylor. I tried to find info on who dropped Froch, but couldn't. Funny how someone who once appeared so badass just fizzled out so fast! I hardly think about Taylor, even though talks of him fighting again soon have surfaced. Now HIS is a case where a fighter's safety should be considered. Jermain's suffered 3 hard KOs. The brain can only stand so much damage.

It's true, more often than not, the big money fights are the tougher fights. This case, I would say is an exception. Intrigue has been generated because Groves knocked Froch down. More so because when he got up, he was clearly hurt. The stoppage was controversial. Therefore refusing a rematch would be seen as a duck. Maybe Groves' cred suffered before, but it has probably gone up a bit since Saturday's fight. What fight offers Froch more overall than a rematch with Groves?I don't care about Froch's safety. If it was up to me, I'd see the rematch. But fighters take the biggest fight available and if that's not Groves, then Froch shouldn't get stick for taking a bigger fight.
A duck is when you turn down big fights to take lesser money fights. George Groves should know all about that when he ducked rematches with Kenny Anderson and James DeGale to fight bums like Noe Alcoba and Baker Barakat.
But of course, no one remembers that now because everyone is on the Groves bandwagon.Comment

yeah he got stopped...from knocking Froch out, by a corrupt ref who put him in a headlock in the center of the ring while Groves was throwing haymakersComment

Or you could read the rest of the thread and see thats not what I meant. Why do you sound like you only want to see Froch in a big money fight that he is assured to win, rather than rematch a man who gave him hell? Is he going to give you any of his purse? As fans, we want to see the best fights that benefit us, not fights that are easy wins with big paychecks!
