Otorohanga boxer Daniel MacKinnon (21-8-1, 9KOs) has been discharged from Waikato Hospital after he underwent emergency surgery following his title fight in Hamilton. The surgery was to relieve the pressure on his brain. MacKinnon was stopped in the tenth round after getting dropped for the third time in the contest. During the fight he suffered a badly swollen right eye.
