Regardless of its' veracity, if the 500K projection proves true, they fell well under their BEP, putting them in a position where something has to give. Whether that's negotiating a lower guarantee for Pacquiao ($30+M) or trying to negotiate a fight against a more lucrative opponent that isn't in their stable (if Marquez continues to reject a 5th fight).
I had given up on the Mayweather-Pacquiao, but this might be the best time for "genuine negotiations" to take place, instead of the artificial ones from 09-10.
