James Degale Beat Groves, Is It Likely He Beats Froch?

Like most people, I had Degale beating Groves by a few rounds only to get robbed by Groves, largely due to the crowd reaction swaying the judges.

Groves put up a very good fight against the consensus number 2 SMW in the world, Carl Froch, at least while the fight lasted. Terrible stoppage but I think Groves would have been legitimately stopped before the 12 rounds were up.

Now considering James Degale beat Groves and won more rounds than Froch appeared to be winning, would he do even better than Groves did against Froch, lasting the distance and probably outpointing Froch? who wins poll coming up..

DeGale would give Froch a lot of problems but Carl has so many intangibles that you can never count him out.

This thread reminded me of something and it will make me have less sympathy for Groves if he doesn't get the rematch with Froch considering he refuses to give DeGale and even Kenny Anderson rematches after their controversial endings.

      Froch TKO.

DeGale is a decent fighter, but his slapping punches, stamina and loose defence are all wrong against Froch.

DeGale-Groves would be better, but Groves is far superior at this stage.

Carl is a hell of a fighter, tough as nails but Degale's style is all wrong for Froch. After the damage that Groves inflicted on him, which was probably more damage than anyone out of the Super 6 including Kessler, Carl Froch is gradually deteriorating. He's been in with so many quality opponents it's bound to catch up with him and he did look sluggish last night from the get go.

Degale will catch him on the way down, coming off his prime, he'll have a very good chance of beating him. But, it could be argued that Groves has improved since the Degale fight, it's difficult to assess if Degale has improved. Groves should have given Degale that rematch so it would sort of be poetic justice if he doesn't get a rematch from Froch.

DeGale like to roll about on the ropes, and that is suicidal against Froch.

I don't remember Groves refusing De Gale, Warren didn't want them to fight again unless it was for a world title and De Gale left (rightfully so) so it wasn't gonna happen.

Anderson is a different kettle of fish, he threatened Grove's wife and family... doesn't deserve the paycheck.

That is nonsense. Warren called for the Board of Control to order a rematch. They obviously didn't and Groves has always gone on record as saying he doesn't need to rematch DeGale because he "bashed him up twice". Laughable really.

Anderson didn't threaten anyone. More nonsense. And surely if he did, Groves would want to "bash him up" for it.
