Yeah it was a hopeless situatiion for rios. If he used the jab he got countred, if he tried to close the gap without it manny would lead and he would not be fast enough to catch up. Rios slow footwork made it an impossible task for him and his style of defense, high guard and leaning back a bit didnt help his chances to counter only to survive.

I agree manny is a great fighter rios is good but were talking apples and oranges here and he was able finish fight on his feet

Good at what exactly? Taking punches to the head? We've seen Rios get outclassed by Abril, Alvarado and now Pacquiao (no shame in this one).

Funny thing is, when Abril outclassed him people had the nerves to blame the weight.
