Manny hasn't had a killer instinct for years now, so IDK what you're talking about. He still looked good, but that was a against a B level fighter who was coming up in weight and plodded forward.
Manny Pacquiao Has Lost The Fire

OP you must have been watching a different fighter tonight than me.
Is it the same Pacquiao as 6-7 years ago? Of course not, but he's changed his style to increase his longevity in the sport. That is why he hired Freddie Roach in the first place. He knew that he had to improve defensively and not get hit as much. I suspect the huge unnecessary punch he took from Marquez might have made him realize that going back to taking risks like he used to wasn't always the smartest strategy.
I like these forums, lots of knowledgeable folks, but there sure are some crazy threads at times.Comment

Manny looked fine in there tonight. He was in there against a tough, hard punching, hungry young fighter. Not to mention he's coming off a year layoff and a big KO, it's no surprise that he didn't come in looking for the kill. But based on his performance tonight, I don't think it's exactly right to say he's "lost the fire", he's not the same fighter that beat on Cotto, and hasn't been for the past few years, but that's the way things go in this sport, especially fighters that fight like him. But as someone else said, if that had been Floyd, people would be all "OMG!!!!!!!! That was amazing!! You dunno **** about boxing if you didn't like that!!!!"Comment

I agree for the most part but I think Manny has one or two big fights left in him. He should either wait and see if Mayweather wants to make the fight happen or fight the winner of Broner/Maidana. The only question remains: Will Manny's fights from now on only take place in Macau where he can make a killer payday as can his opponents? I think a $5 million payday or so can entice Broner to fight in Macau against Pacquiao if a Mayweather fight can't happen in Vegas.Comment

Floydiot has been doing this most in his entire career and if Pacquiao outclasses his opponent you call it "declining" "lost his fire", this fight, Pacquiao-Clottey and other shutout wins are more eye worthy than Floydtard-Delahoya and floydtard-Alvarez, and what's embarassing is those two are the most bought ppv in history but it's a fact that people bought it to SEE Mayweather lose or KTFoed not to see him put on a show. and once PBF lose, expect his ppv fights to not reach 300k markLast edited by Espada; 11-24-2013, 02:09 AM.Comment

Disappointed by Manny tonight...
He barely countered and the punch bursts that used to be so frequent were less and less in this fight.
From his post-fight interview, he insinuated to be being more cautious. As if he were worried about Rios' weak and inconsistent counters... Really Pac!?!?!?
The pre-Margarito Manny would've been setting Rios up for counters and shooting combinations as often as possible especially after he saw that Rios wasn't fast enough to consistently counter him. The KO might not have effected him physically, but it damaged him mentally. That cautious Manny probably loses to Marquez again and opens the door to Bradley being able to outwork him in a rematch.Comment

The fight plan was to box, Rios was nothing more than a tune up.
Roach said it in the build up.
Pretty simple really.Comment
